Have you ever been intoxicated by the fickle emotions of ‘True Love’ similar to a roller coaster ride? I felt I was caught in a whirlwind of emotions that I could not control. Sentiments of love is a double-edged sword that can fill your heart with bliss and also tear it apart. During my research I have discovered the three important factors that shape eternal love: passion, commitment, and intimacy.
Throughout the years, I wondered if my first love relationship was ‘true love’ or ‘unrequited love’. Consequentially to my misfortune, I still do not know the answer to this question since it ended abruptly without any closure. I felt lost, devastated, and emotionally unstable, constantly yearning to retrieve what was lost. In hindsight, I know that my fiance and I shared two of the three love factors, since commitment was absent.
‘True Love’ is part of every romance writer’s work. Furthermore, the question that arises over and over again is why some people experience the beauty and gift of true love and many others never do? Share your views and love experiences. I would love to hear about them.
